This course is a comprehensive study of Human Resource Management (HRM) principals and body of knowledge. Students will learn the historical perspective of the profession, management concepts and strategy applications, workplace health and safety regulations, and workforce planning. This program targets professionals seeking to obtain a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
Human resource management (HRM) is the function within an organization that focuses on the management of providing direction and guidance for the people who work in an organization. HR managers are responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and controlling the daily operations. In addition to forecasting, staffing, talent development and retention, the HR manager should develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promoting diversity and inclusion with all demographics. HR manager’s adherence with strict local/federal laws as well as compensation and benefits packages. The HR manager handles highly sensitive employee relations and recognizes potential employee relations issues in a proactive manner. Manages and resolves sensitive issues through objective fact finding investigations, mediation of difficult interactions, political adjustments, and escalation of problems to a higher level when needed.
