Project Management/Leadership Project
This course approaches project leadership from a perspective that will enable (the new) you to synthesize your leadership skills with the essence of who you are so that you can create personal and organizational success. It explores the leadership journey, from the importance of understanding others to using transformational experiences to grow and from developing a set of values and principles to actualizing them on a personal and professional level, as you become the leader of tomorrow who creates everlasting value. This program introduces the practical insights and techniques that can be applied in managing projects, total quality management, continuous improvement programs and the drive to radically redesign business processes, integrated view of project management, effective business communication skills, strategic or organizational skills, recruitment and staffing concepts and techniques. Although certification is not required, completion of this program and meeting other academic and experiential requirements, prepare the professional who would like to obtain the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Certificate Of Completion

American Heritage College awards The Certificate in Project Management with emphasis in Project Leadership to students who successfully complete the program.

Program Prerequisites

This program require a bachelor degree and 3 year of related work experience or associate degree and 5 year related work experience.
International students should pass an English as a Second Language proficiency exam prior to be accepted by American Heritage College.

Course Description

PMP1 Project Management Concepts and Processes: Discussions on project management processes, professional and social responsibilities, project context, Common Inputs, Tools, Techniques, and Outputs, and interpersonal skills required for a project manager.

PMP2 Process Framework: Discussions on Organizational Structures; Process Group 1- Initiating, Process Group 2- Planning, Process Group 3- Executing, Process Group 4- Monitoring and Control and Process Group 5- closing.

PMP3 Integration Management:

PMP4 Scope Management: Discussions on Plan Scope Management, Collect Requirements, creation of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Scope validation

PMP5 Time Management: Discussions on Plan Schedule Management, Activities, Sequence Activities, Estimate Activity Resources, Estimate Activity Durations, Develop Schedule and Create Critical Path Method

PMP6 Cost Management: Discussions on Plan Cost Management, Compute Estimate Costs, Analyze how to Determine Budget, Control Costs and Calculate Earned Value

PMP 7 Quality Management: Discussions on Definition of Quality, Plan Quality ,Perform Quality Assurance

PMP 8 Human Resource Management: Discussions on Human Resource Management, Project Team, Manage Project Team

PMP 9 Communications Management: Discussions on Project Manager’s Role in Communications, Create Plan Communications, Define Manage Communications, Describe Control Communications

PMP10 Risk Management: Discussions on Plan Risk Management, List Identify Risks, Analyze Perform Qualitative Risk Analysis, Analyze Perform Quantitative Risk Analysis, Define Plan Risk Responses, and Assess Monitor and Control Risks
